I'm looking at getting a couple of sapphire 290 tri-x set up for my 1440p. From what I've read the reference cards fans aim for 95c while the sapphire card aims for 80.

Knowing that the gpu has a lot of headroom I terms of temp, can I change the fan profile on my sapphires so at 80c they use less fans and thus put out less noise? For example the fans currently hit 40% at 80c, can I change this to 30% and 40% for 90c.

Has anyone personally done this?
