have w7 on ssd(primary boot device), added Ubuntu to hdd. Also added a cd-rom drive (I don't know why...) Asus bios. when i navigate to boot option in bios there is a section titled "boot order" or something. i wanted to take it out of that list (1. ssd 2. hdd ... optical drive may be in there too) but clicking on any of the items just boots them...

The HDD and I think maybe even the optical drive have added several seconds (maybe ~10+) to my normal boot time. is there a way to keep Ubuntu on my hdd without my computer "considering" it and slowly booting into windows? same with the optical drive, although i could easily just take that out.

If the SSD is above the HDD in the boot list, it won't be considered at all.
