No. i would pay the crystals.

Source: I have a T2 shang chi and hes good for almost nothing. check him on the tier list, down there near hulkling and gamora

I’m not gonna use Shang Chi for anything, I just need to get him to 6 star for the requirement.

He can do shadowland. just use 5 for immunity then spam the other skills.
